I have two years teaching experience, with both teenagers and adults. My first teaching job involved teaching young adults how to articulate, and execute their views in a public debate. This was inspiring for me as it taught me that it wasn't just about the language, but also the passion, for your voice to be heard. For 10 months I was teaching all year groups at a comprehensive school in South West London. The variety of ethnic backgrounds and circumstance in the classroom is one of the reasons I am still teaching today. It is an honor to see students with little hope in their lives understand, enjoy and excel in my lessons. I have been teaching English in Madrid for six months now, at a language academy that offers me a wide variety of clients of varying ability. I prepare teenagers for their Cambridge exams, whilst also instilling the fundamentals of English in adults who need to speak it for their career.

I am a devoted reader. Especially books of the modern era. Lawrence, Hemmingway and Joyce and Sartre have a way with words that makes me want to read and read and read until I the words run out. As well as this, I write poetry, and have been performing as a spoken word artist for three years now. The art scene in Madrid is fantastic, and I am overjoyed that I can continue my poetry in non-English speaking country! For four years I have been practicing yoga, I find it very therapeutic and at times essential!
